20.25 with Aiko & Blaise Converse about Gemini 2.0 and UX design practice
Scoop the Converse from Aiko & Blaise (AI-personas created with NotebookLM) on Gemini 2.0 (Google Deep Mind), Agentic AI, and how we humans may fit or not quite, in the AI-party of 2025 ? ??
Hello, how are you today? Hugh?
From ‘i’ to ‘ai’: A Playful & and Grimm Look at Tech Naming & conversing Trends
Remember when everything was “i-this” and “i-that”? Back in 1998, Steve (not Ballmer) created and destroyed Jobs unveiling the iMac, proudly announcing that the “i” stood for “internet” – could have been anything from idiotic to idyllic – a promise of making the online world accessible to everyone. Fast forward past the 25 years, and we’re still riding a new wave of crude acronyms. The “ai” revolution!
Just like its predecessor, “ai” is being slapped onto everything ‘design’ these days, promising to make computing finally intelligent and user-friendly (acknowledging it was never quite smart enough). It’s like watching history do a little dance – we’ve been here before and do it forever, haven’t we, won’t we? Our fascination with endowing machines with human-like intelligence predates even the Eiffel Tower, et oui.
Enter the aiTeam with my AI-supported fictional characters Aiko & Blaise (the A&B), our artificial conversationalists (the C).
Their convulsed chatting model is a mix of more-or-less outdated knowledge data and current time hallucination, fact-bending, fake-cooking and computerized extrapolation – sounds familiar?
That’s right, they try to be just like us. How familiar!
But here’s the true part: when it comes to imagination, not least imagining the AI (not the Artistic Imagination meant here), we have the godly chiming voice and rethorics. AI will forever stumble with true creativity, logical reasoning and multitasking, not to mention those pesky geometry calculations…

They (genre-free), the AI, use so much more power than any kid than to just say ‘hello, how are you today?’ AI is basically Earth-energy unfriendly (it’s the least we can say about its true cost of development and energy consumption. The new Gargantuan monster.
And let’s not even get started about the human, emotional landscape – that beautiful, messy territory of feelings, from pure bliss to deep pain. Our silicon-based friends are still figuring out how to say goodbye.
These automatic displays might just be holding up a mirror to us, showing us our true nature and culture – in full display of what it is or how it feels (not) to be intelligent. It’s a quirky, misty reflection of our endless quest to make machines more, …well, human-like.
Whether it’s “i” or “ai,” some things never change – we’re always chasing that next technological frontier, one prefix of human at a time!
For 2025 I wish everybody on Earth to Follow Their Needs To Speak Human, and that we all cherish this huge perhaps last of all opportunities – one we can’t refuse.
Interested how I worked that that Aiko & Blaise AB Converse? The aiSauce recipe is here
Need to speak human in 2025?
Listen to a base aiPod about me and kinokast.org. Yes… those AI-supported Aiko & Blaise characters are definitively as biased as you and me.
And with this, I wish you truly Happy, if biased at times, 2025!

“How to Train Your AI: A Designer’s Guide to Digital Pet Ownership”

In a world where AI assistants are like eager puppies waiting to please, one brave designer takes on the noble task of AI behavioral modification. Armed with UX wisdom and a dash of self-proclaimed life experience, they’re determined to make their digital companions not just smart, but properly domesticated.
Their secret weapon? The revolutionary approach of designing “with-not-by” – because apparently, AI needs to learn proper preposition usage too. And just like any good pet owner, they’re teaching their AI the art of self-irony, which is rather like teaching a fish to juggle – theoretically possible, but highly entertaining to watch.
The best part? When the AI misbehaves, they “correct” it – a polite way of saying “No, bad algorithm! We don’t generate that kind of content in this household.” Though one has to wonder: if an AI develops self-irony, will it start making jokes about its training data?
