aiPod Speak 004 – Dany-robert Dufour – De Mandeville – Perveristy in Liberalism // Inspired and freely derived from an original French spoken Elucid.media interview – 07 12 24 (for free study only)

(sourced from free accessed, Elucid.media, 2024-12-07 – translation into ENGLISH)

This philosophical conversation treated here is I think directly relevant to the current and future thinking about products and designing products and services with UX design and AI. It will give more context to designers who want to develop their critical thinking to continue to support our own, very much human-centered, multiple design experiences.

The sources for aiPod 004 explore French philosopher Dany-Robert Dufour’s critique of neoliberalism, tracing its intellectual roots to 18th-century philosopher Bernard de Mandeville. I have created: (1) an audio aiPod, and (2) a specifically composed NotebookLM Google study guide.

Humanist, French philosopher Dufour argues that Bernard de Mandeville (1670-1733), original and revolutionary, at first extremely controversial, idea (that “private vices make public benefits”) while initially scandalous, was later sanitized and adopted by world-known economists like Adam Smith, ultimately shaping neoliberal ideology.

The sources detail the historical development of this ideology, highlighting its consequences: extreme inequality, environmental destruction, and the dehumanization of labor. Dufour proposes “conservatories” to counter this, promoting critical thinking and a renewed sense of shared humanity.

Translated into English, derived and re-formatted as an AB Converse aiPod and for a studying-purposes Google NotebookLM.
Heartily felt gratitude to the excellent recent, original French spoken interview from Carla Costantini (free access on Elucid.media and YouTube “ON A CONFIÉ LE DESTIN DU MONDE AUX PERVERS – Dany-Robert Dufour”, 2024-12-07).
